Despite a busy start to the new year, I’ve been able to keep up (somewhat) with my Judo training. Today there was a local tournament, and I was fortunate enough to be able to compete.
Actually, I’ve been watching my weight the past week to ensure I’d measure in at 100kg. If you miss that mark, you end up in HEAVYWEIGHT. Well, I made my weight, but there was no one else to compete with, so they put me into the heavyweight category anyway (other guys were about 250 pounds!!!). Ooch.
Not to worry, my speed and superior technique prevailed. I won two matches to nab the gold :)

Wow, action shot! I’m impressed, you can almost hear the “Thump!” as you hit the floor.
I’d not want to meet with on Jason in a dark alley when he can throw poor men around like putty in his hands.

Awesome. I too went platinum as a game developer on PSX (Croc). Before that, 3DO and in the dawn of time, before the heyday, SGI.
I too am now out to pasture and relaxing with the martial arts. But i don’t compete. Not yet, at least.

Great throw, man. I felt I could see it & hear it. That guy didn’t know what hit him. I also am 45+yo, big build (6′2″, 205#) & love judo. Keep up the judo, man. Respectfully bowing to you.
