I’m currently in transit to Montevideo, Uruguay. Door to door, I’m looking at about 24 hours of flying, waiting, connecting, etc.

A load of Uruguayan business, academic and gov folks are working to catalyze the local game industry. Uruguay has been building up proficiency in IT/outsourcing and are looking to expand into other knowledge industries.

And, as we’ve seen time and again, the game industry is simply too attractive to ignore…

I’m looking forward to meeting Sofia Battegazzore from Powerful Robot - one of the few established game studios in Uruguay. Sadly, my international adventuring buddy Gonzalo Frasca (arguably the most famous Uruguayan in gaming) wont be in town.

As usual, I’ll post my trip summary and pics once I get back.
