I’m still kinda swamped with post-E3 work. Just seems like you can never properly recover from such a big event.

Be sure to check out my post-E3 article at the Escapist, where I discuss all the “other” stuff that goes on at E3…

Highlights for me this year were seeing two great games from Montreal based studios (Ubisoft’s Assasin’s Creed and EA’s Army of Two; The IGDA members party was great; The very cool Into the Pixel exhibit; Being mesmerized by Gran Turismo HD (even though I’m not a big disciple of HD, I was floored) and the cool EyeToy game, The Eye of Judgement.

Bar none, the best bit of video coming out of E3 was the tour of the crazy long Nintendo booth line.

Anyway, on to the fun. Check out all my pics from the trip.

Simon Carless (Gamasutra) and David Thomas (Buzzcut) at the “not an E3 party” for game journalists.
Kurt Wenner’s Gears of War chalk floor art was pretty damn impressive.

Probably one of the single most important games to be shown at E3 - both in terms of design challenge and potential to reach untapped audiences/markets…

Bah! There were plenty of booth babes to go round.

A Nite to Unite for Kids is a pretty cool event that is doing valuable work, but doesn’t get a lot of attention…

Trent Ward (Backbone), Don Daglow (Stormfront), Clint Hocking (Ubisoft) and Alain Tascan (EA) discuss next-gen design and how the consoles stack up.

Jean-Pierre Faucher and Jean-Francois Arsenault of Alliance Numeriqc mingle at the Quebec reception.

All the GameSpot writers diligently filing their stories amongst all the chaos.

Best Swag Ever: Wizards of the Coast were giving out copies of Magic by the truck full. Of course, this is about the equivalent of handing out free needles…

Nordic Presence: like many governments, the various Nordic countries came together under one banner/booth.

Oouh Fallout 3! Too bad they weren’t showing it.

The Eye of Judgement in action. I wonder if they’ll sell that EyeToy holding contraption?

Tameem Antoniades (Ninja Theory) showing off his very cool looking PS3 game, Heavenly Sword.

Interesting panel on the “new gamemaker”, more so an HR and talent oriented topic.

KGDI president Jong-Sik Woo welcomes everyone to the Korean dinner reception.

At the Sony party… Lots of steak, but where’s the sizzle?

At the Sony party… Some funky acrobatics…

At the Sony party… Arjan Brussee (Guerrilla Games) and Kim Pallister (Microsoft Casual Games).

Leaving the Sony party… Dante Treglia (EA) and Mark DeLoura (Sony) on the shuttle bus back into town.

The line up for the Nintendo booth was…

…so freaking long!

In-game shot of Desperate Housewives… Gameplay looked kinda interesting…

Uh, until you got to the cooking mini-game. Ugh.

Need to update the vapor-ware lists…

Viva Pinata looked pretty cool, like a next-gen Animal Crossing of sorts…

AGEIA’s PhysX hardware based physics accelerator. Feels like the early days of 3D graphics all over again…

Popular as always!

Lost in Translation: They may want to consider changing the name for English speaking markets ;)
