As I hinted a few posts down, the whole QoL issue has been impacting my own work/life balance. Not to say that I don’t have piles of work at all times, but when you send out an open letter to “the industry” - you can expect a few more emails to your inbox (the media interviews alone can sap a whole week’s time (eg, I’ve done at least two dozen interviews on this issue with the likes of Wall Street Journal, NY Times, LA Times, Salon, CNN, CNet, NPR, the Merc, GameDaily, GameSpot, etc. (the impressive part being the pervasiveness of the coverage))).

That, on top of prepping for GDC, ramping up action for the Choice Awards, planning out our annual report, launching the scholarship program, driving the various committees, etc. Not to mention some other significant changes we’ve been working on, yet to be annonuced. Yikes, no wonder I’ve only made 4 blog posts in all of November :(

Anyway, all that to say that I’m taking a VACATION! Woohoo! My first vacation in five years! The wife+son and I are heading down to Cuba for a week for some much needed R&R.

Strip of beach at the El Senador resort in Cayo Coco, Cuba.

Funnily enough, it is 1:30am on Sunday morning, I’m still working on tieing up some loose ends for work, I’ve yet to pack and the flight leaves in just a few hours…

Ciao baby!
